Meet Mr. Votu

MR. Votu is world’s first mascot for voter awareness and democracy promotion programme. It is official mascot of Vote for India campaign, his name (Votu) comes out from English dictionary word ‘vote’, which represent people’s participation. Mr. Votu officially was launched in the launching ceremony of ‘National Voters Awareness Week’ on 21th January 2013 at FICCI auditorium where he first time interacted with 650 new voters and students of various educational institutions of National Capital Region(Delhi).

Mr. Votu is a common Indian civilian, who is well aware about his voting rights and is entitled towards creating awareness amongst the voters. Mr. Votu idealizes India as a developed nation, where each and every citizen is enrolled in election process as a responsible and an aware citizen and everyone has equal participation in nation building.

Mr. Votu believes that in a democratic structure like India, where people choose their representatives and send them to legislative assembly / council and to the parliament through election, Voting is the only opportunity with voters through which they can decide future of the country. Elections being considered as "Festival of Democracy", Mr. Votu urges all voters to ‘come out and cast their vote’, and to achieve this goal Mr. Votu keeps on visiting different cities, Corporate houses, educational institutions and explore other places to aware people of the nation to make voters aware about importance of their invaluable vote.

Mr. Votu, being the world’s first voting awareness Mascot has been embraced in the Limca Book of Records. Limca Book of Records encouraged our efforts as well as acquiesced with Mr. Votu being part of the prestigious book.
